Spider Plant – Established Indoor Plant in 6 Inch Pot
The Spider Plant (Chlorophytum comosum) is one of the most popular and forgiving houseplants in India. In a 6-inch pot, this is a well-established, bushy plant ready to display. Known for arching green-and-white striped leaves and cascading baby “spiderettes” — it actively produces pups you can propagate and share.
🌞 Light: Thrives in bright indirect light but tolerates low light well. Avoid harsh direct afternoon sun. A north, east, or west-facing windowsill or shelf is ideal.
💧 Watering: Water when the top inch of soil feels dry — roughly every 6–8 days in summer, every 10–12 days in winter. Drought-tolerant; overwatering is the main risk. Use RO or filtered water if possible to prevent brown leaf tips.
🪨 Potting & Soil: The 6-inch pot can house this plant comfortably for 1+ years. Repot into an 8-inch pot when roots fill the pot or plantlets are prolific. Use well-draining potting soil + vermicompost (4:1). Spider plants actually flower and produce more pups when slightly root-bound.
🏠 Placement: Perfect for hanging planters, high shelves, or a shaded balcony. Trailing spiderettes look spectacular in a hanging basket. Great air purifier for bedrooms and living rooms.
Difficulty: Very Easy ✅ | Pet safety: Safe for pets and children 🐾 | Air-purifying: Yes
